Justice rapid response Nina Suomalainen where war crimes

On 7 May 2018, Nina Suomalainen will start as Executive Director of the Geneva-based Justice Rapid Response, an organization that provides expert assistance to investigative agencies investigating war crimes and serious crimes. She has extensive experience in international positions, conflict management, and conflict prevention. She will transfer from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, where she served as Head Office. In addition, she will bring her expertise in human rights law and international humanitarian law.

The Executive Director of Justice Rapid Response, Nina Suomalainen, has been appointed to lead the organization’s international operations. She has worked for the UN, the EU, and international organizations for over 25 years. Most recently, she served as the Head of the OSCE Mission in Skopje and the Deputy Head of the mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nina Suomalainen was appointed to lead the organization after being appointed as an ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. She previously worked as the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and has extensive communications experience in both the public and private sectors. She holds a B.A. in journalism and an M.A. in international relations from the University of Western Ontario.
