A virtual version of Art Basel is set to go live next week after organizers abandoned plans to stage the Swiss flagship fair in September. Zurich-based art dealer Eva Presenhuber isn’t optimistic the digital event will prove profitable for her. While online viewing rooms are a growing trend as coronavirus fears force the cancellation of one art fair after another, the reviews have been mixed. Presenhuber says she hasn’t sold anything through online shops so far. Like many dealers, she is planning to supplement her virtual fair booth with a physical version in her gallery.
