Tearing down statues is the wrong approach, says philanthropist who bought Nazi items

Geneva businessman and philanthropist Abdallah Chatila understands the rage behind the toppling of statues in anti-racism protests in the U.S. and Europe. Last year he paid some EUR600,000 to buy Nazi memorabilia at a German auction, intending to burn the items, which included some of Hitler’s belongings. In an interview with CNNMoney’s Ana Maria Montero, he explains why he changed his mind and why he now thinks it’s wrong to destroy controversial artifacts.
