Members of the public and private sectors came together recently for the launch of Trust Valley, an initiative by the western cantons of Vaud and Geneva to position the region as an international hub of competence in cybersecurity and digital governance. Martin Vetterli, president of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), says the pandemic was a real-time test of digital competence and it showed society is “extremely exposed” to cyberattacks.
