Professional men’s football is under financial pressure with the transfer value of players falling 30 percent in wake of the Covid-19 crisis, according to Raffaele Poli, head of the Neuchâtel-based CIES Football Observatory. While many clubs are looking at losses, the market will pick up in six months on the back of growth in Asia and the Americas, he predicts.
